Childrens Therapy is an independent occupational therapy practice based in West Sussex offering high quality services to children, young people, their families and schools in Sussex and Hampshire.

We also provide supervision and training for newly qualified or lone working Occupational Therapists.

It is owned and operated by Clare Rader BSc OT, PG Dip.


  • We provide comprehensive assessments, one-to-one and group interventions in addition to advice and consultancy services and training for school staff.
  • Where possible we aim to provide on-site services within the home or school settings, to help them, their families, teachers and helpers include them all aspects of life from activities of daily living to accessing the curriculum, taking part in the social aspects of school life and the wider community.
  • We have experience of working with children aged 0-18 with a wide range of conditions, disabilities and learning difficulties including Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD), dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Down’s Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorders and looked after children suffering from trauma and attachment difficulties.

About Clare


Clare has as worked as an Occupational Therapist in the field of Paediatrics since 2002. She has experience working with children of all ages with both mild and complex disabilities; including Cerebral Palsy, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, Sensory Integration Dysfunction and those resulting from issues with trauma and attachment.

Clare has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, in both mainstream and special schools, nurseries, children’s homes and respite care places.

Clare has completed postgraduate training in numerous treatment approaches including Sensory Integration Modules 1 and 2 and is a qualified Bobath therapist. She has also completed additional courses in postural management, DCD, handwriting and splinting all in addition to a postgraduate diploma in Management of Childhood Disability.

Clare is experienced in using a variety of assessment tools both standardised and non-standardised and using a variety of treatment approaches tailor-made to help the child, their family and carers meet their needs and maximise their potential in everyday life.
